Year In Review: New Orleans
December 17th, 2019  |  by

Under the vibrant backdrop of the music and food of the “Big Easy,” full-time staff and volunteers combined their effort for another valuable and enriching year of service in our CrossRoads-New Orleans field.

CrossRoads-New Orleans, by the numbers

Nine groups traveled to our New Orleans field in 2019—a total of 213 volunteer participants. Through their hard work and service, we were able to complete 30 individual projects this year, working together with six local community organizations that serve as partners of our organization.

We also held eight cookouts in the St. Roch community of New Orleans and worked with Thrive New Orleans to organize a summer camp that had 125 local children attend.

CrossRoads-New Orleans also helped to refurbish The Gathering Center of Community, and performed repairs on the roof of a home The Gathering owns and makes available to families in need of a home but are unable to afford rent on their own.

Our New Orleans field also offers tremendous service opportunities through our internship program. Click here to read about the experience of one of our New Orleans interns running our kids’ camp.

In order to keep doing the positive work in New Orleans, we need help from people just like you.

Our developmental fund makes it possible for our full-time staff in New Orleans, as well as all of our other fields of service, to operate. CrossRoads Missions uses its developmental fund to organize the logistics and support for each of our fields of service. Our year-end fundraising campaign is seeking additional support that will go directly to our developmental fund, which will allow us to grow our ministry and serve even more people in 2020. When you contribute to our developmental fund, your generous donations have a direct and tangible impact on the lives of the people living in those areas we serve.
