Ryan Oiler Help Build Hope project coordinator

We would like you to meet Ryan Oiler – our newest Help Build Hope Project Coordinator.

Five years ago, Ryan participated in a Help Build Hope event in his hometown outside of Columbus, Ohio. He was so impressed with the event’s leadership and how smoothly it ran that when Dave Lockwood asked for help unloading the truck at the next location, Ryan quickly volunteered. That decision led to a great friendship, and Ryan’s participation in over two dozen builds since.

Ryan has been a hard worker since childhood when we would help out on the family farm. “I used to take sick days from work to bale hay… It was when I felt closest to God. Wall builds been the only other time I’ve had that feeling.” As he continued volunteering with Dave on local builds, he often received the same question: Would he join the Help Build Hope staff? It never seemed like the right time until Dave announced his retirement. “Maybe it is time to do a little bit more,” thought Ryan. Moved by the need for Help Build Hope staff, Ryan decided to join the team.

Ryan and his wife now live in Delaware, Ohio, where they are active in their church, and Ryan helps lead missions trips.
